Confused about ports!

I have been wanted a solid answer for a while now and i need it NOW, can someone give me all the stats about :

 

Displayport

 

HDMI

 

VGA

 

Dvi ALL TYPES

 

with stats a mean max resulution and HZ, BUT NOT ONLY THE MAX RESULUTION 

 

For example: HDMI        X times X resulotion at X HZ

                                       X times X resulotion at X HZ

PLEASE A NEED TO KNOW HOW I CAN GET FULL 1920 X 1280 res and 144 HZ!!!!!!!!

Now that i know that i need a display port, I got one around but how do i know that its a DP 1.2 or higher?

I'm no expert in this field, but Displayport can definitely achieve that, with even higher resolutions. HDMI on the other hand, because that is mostly designed for media devices rather than gaming, is limited to 60Hz.

 

I'd say go with displayport.

You can get 1920.1280 144hz with

120hz is unofficially supported by hmdi 1.3 and up.

take off the "s" in https and it will embed

Theoretical maximums only. Support for these refresh rates will depend on the display controller being used (usually the one on the monitor's end is the limiting factor).

Your monitor screen may not support it. Search the model number of your screen online to see if you can find out the max refresh rate.

If your screen can run at 144Hz, it may be your graphics card, but that is unlikely.

Seriously, I'm pretty sure Wikipedia is pretty good about having all of this info on tap. Regardless, chances are that you don't have a 144hz monitor. (If you're using a TV, several of the "144hz" are not really 144hz, so that may be why you can't select it as well...)

I got a 970 and my monitor is att 144hz its a acer xb27h and when iam using dvi a can putt 144hz on but its not working?

just use displayport. its the highest bandwidth connection capable of supporting 4k 60hz+

best option you have. next would be hdmi 2.0 and then Dvi which in some cases I beleive has a 120hz limit at 1080p

Agreed, Displayport (as far as I know) will not limit you at all when it comes to settings on your screen.
