Which type of Ethernet do I have

Hexorian.

I was looking at buying some more Ethernet cables but wasent really sure which kind I should get anybody know someway I can figure it out thanks!

Look at the cables you're using, they should have the type of cable written on them. It's most likely Cat 5e.

Cat 5e or Cat 6.

You can see that product name on the cable itself.

Unless you are doing high data transfers from things like servers 5e  is more than enough for the home user.

Cat 5e or Cat 6 should be fine. Nor does it matter if you're mixing the two different cable types over your network.

Between the two you won't notice any difference in transfer speed, especially over short distances. If you want to improve your transfer speed my suggestion is to upgrade to a gigabit router if you don't already have one. It's pretty standard now days though, I'd be surprised if yours wasn't that already.
