G3258 is WAY better than the 5350 (on games that boot with only a dual core), but if you can afford a dedicated GPU, then get an Athlon X4 860K.

The biggest  BURNOUT  fanboy on this forum.

 

And probably the world.

5350 and games don't go together.

I don't know why you are comparing the two; they aren't even in the same tier.

It is like comparing a smart-car versus a Corolla (Ford Focus...or whatever).

 

The Core components (APU + motherboard + RAM) for a socket AM1 system is about $130~$140. The AM1 platofrm was intended to be a low-power office system.

The Intel Pentium will render much better results considering it has stronger and faster core strength. Until DirectX 12 games are developed and released then we are stuck with DirectX 11 games that can not utilize more than 2-Cores semi-efficiently so this also gives the Intel Pentium and i3 a lead over AMD Qaud-Cores. DirectX 12 might par the AMD 5350 with the Intel Pentium considering that the API will be able to utilize the AMDs Qaud-cores. I would still go with the Intel Pentium regardless since you may need to build this PC now. Im pretty sure even AMD lowest end Quad-cores will fair well with DirectX 12 games considering gaming applications do not need that much CPU resources as long as the API can address more than 2-Cores efficiently.
