There never was a core 3 duo. He most likely tries to scam you or you misheard him or something.

That grammar...

Anyway, the Core 3 Duo doesn't exist, I think you're talking about the Core 2 Duo.

Usually not. Core 2 Duos are way too old for PC gaming...

2.83 = 2.83GHz. It's the E8300. http://ark.intel.com/nl/products/35070/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E8300-6M-Cache-2_83-GHz-1333-MHz-FSB

What would you like to use it for?

Guys, don't be rude to him. He's trying hard to speak English so please don't be rude to him. Anyway, Core 2 Duo is good enough if the games you're playing are not too heavy on the CPU side. Just have at least a GTX 750 or the AMD Counterpart of that kind of video card. There might be a slight bottleneck, but that's okay.

I don't think he's a troll, if he was he would try to instigate a fight or something. This guy seems like he just wants some advice on a CPU.

@HiStar0980ShenYu Depends on the type of work the CPU has to handle with... Work: Ok. Gaming/editing: No.

maybe you can take an english class prior to posting?

If you're going to call up a foreign user for their language skills, you should at least be sure that you're proficient in the language yourself, which you appear not to be.

The Core 2 Duo is a perfectly worthy office or home computer processor. its big brother, the Core 2 Quad Q6600 is still a competent CPU for budget gaming PCs. I would not use the Duo for gaming though. 2 old cores are not enough for gaming. You can grab a Q6600 for around $30, I believe. I would go for one of those.
