Windows 8.1 disc install with a different product key?

Hey guys so I'm setting up a PC right now and I have a windows 8.1 disc from a previous system, I've just bought another windows 8.1 product key but I was just wondering before I make an install USB. Can I use my windows install disc with the new product key?

Yup. Just make sure it is the right version of Windows, like Home Premium, or PRO.

what he said. if it's the wrong type, download the installer from microsoft

yeah it's an 8.1 pro disc and 8.1 pro key so should be all good.
