beren

All right guys im from germany so my english isnt that good, but i need to ask you a qeustion:

Does my bequiet pure power l8 80plus bronze psu supports sli? Because they said it can handle crossfire and it got 2x 6+2 and 8 power conectors. I just want 2 get 2 gtx 770 in my system. Does anyone have an idea? i would be very happy if u guys can help me.

its just gonna be barely enough which will be taxing for the psu. It will work, but not recommended over long period of time especially if you have alot of other hardware drawing power.

No, it doesn't support sli. It looks like it can only power one GPU. And even if it had the right connectors, the wattage is WAY too low. 630w is at risk of blowing up.

2 7770s should go about 800W for SLI IMO. EVGA 850W B2 is going for cheap.

I have 2x 770 in SLI, and that pulled close to 700W from the plug during benchmarking.  I decided not to take that risk and replaced my Dark Power Pro 650W with an 850W.

Were you overclocking? Which CPU at which clocks did you use? How many fans and drives were in the system?

PC SPECS: CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k @4.4GHz - Mobo: Asrock Extreme 4 (Z77) - GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 680 Twin Frozr 2GB - RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2x4GB (8GB) 1600MHz CL8 + 1x8GB - Storage: SSD: Sandisk Extreme II 120GB. HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB - PSU: be quiet! Pure Power L8 630W semi modular  - Case: Corsair Obsidian 450D  - OS: Windows 7

Specs basically the same as they are now (see profile or build log).

I was still running the HAF X back then, but the fans (CPU fan included) on that total up to 2.2A whereas currently I'm at 1.8A .  So that's a minor difference really, 3W or thereabout.

It will work just fine in gaming.

You will however push it's limits in benchmarking.

While gaming you should be at around 550W from the wall which is fine.

sli gtx 770 with an overclocked i7 3960x @ 4.3ghz uses 500w in gaming . its enough but if you only have 2x8 pins connectors i dont recommend it.if you have 4 pci-e is all good .and thats only because the psu is multirail i think. you have to preety much guess from which rail you use power if you use molex adapters

800w are enough for 2x 290x in crossfire and that says it all. gtx 770 power usage is nowhere near the 290x

I wouldn't recommend too much less than it regardless. 500W usage and 800W of possible output does = pretty darn solid efficiency.

all psus are most efficient in the 20%-100% load. under 20%,which is where the pc stays the most because..idle,efficiency is preety bad. in the 20%-100% the difference is like 1%.thats how psu`s gets their 80+ rating. if its 80 bronze then it stays 80+bronze in the 20-100% load

I'm aware, but a PSU is (typically, not always) at peak efficiency from 50% up top about 80%. Not saying he's going to be using all 850W of that B2 but it's a good idea not to try and get as close to the max potential output of the system as possible like it's a game....
