new ssd isnt showing up

so i bought a new kingston hyperx savage 240gb ssd and i plugged it in and it shows up in the bios but doesnt show up in windows, all that shows up is my main hdd, whats going on ?

That is completly normal. You have to create a partition for it in the device manager in Windows.

go to your control panel. Administrative tools. computer managment, and finally storage. once there youll see your ssd, you just need to initialize the disk assign a drive number and format it.

did both, i just rebooted my pc ill see if that helps

ok so i did a install of windows on the ssd by unplugging my hdd and doing the install bu then i boot up on the ssd and the hdd doesnt show up and when i boot from the hdd the ssd doesnt show up. im really confused and am getting really anoyed with this ssd bullsh** and im really at the point of selling it for the same price i payed. if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated. and yes ive tried the suggestions above and ive watched some videos linus had done

are you planning to use the HDD as a media drive with the SSD as a boot drive?

yup, using the ssd as boot drive and for gta, and the hdd for the rest of my games and mass storage, i got it working, kind off. some programs just auto install to the ssd and i cant choose where i want them, like chrome and geforce experiance

yeah that kinda pisses me off when they won't let me choose where to install them, but for all I know they need to be there for the program to function correctly.

Ya that's what I'm thinking. Either way I don't think the ssd was worth it. It took me around 6-8 hours to set up aND get it working. I doubt that extra 2-3 seconds saved on loading times will save me that much time
