well, time to get a 390. sound test @ 9:30

What exactly was this guy using to measure the audio?

Surely not just pointing the camera at it?

I could hear a slight hum on the 970 part but couldn't hear anything on the 390. Most likely due to the shoddy camera microphone he was using.

390 performed better in most games and it was getting even more ahead of 970 if you increased resolution.

Coil whine is pretty card specific though. Its not like all MSI 970's will have coil whine. For the most part, coil whine is 100% equally susceptible on all GPUs.

Finally someone heard my praise and sticked the biggest, badassest cooelr they could find on that chip. It makes the AMD cards at least acceptable.

who cares...

All I hear was pops and cracks, lol.  So noise test was done with case on...??? I couldn't hear much from either card on speakers. Didn't use headphones.

even if the card didnt have coil whine, they both sounded exactly the same

Lets not forget its better :P

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

sure, higher resolutions it performs better, still shit, slightly better. But you have to remember how well 970 overclocks, 390 doesn't.

Silicon lotery.

Also 390 scales better with OC even though it OC less so in the end they will still trade the blows once you OC both.

no, silicon lottery applies to 970, so buy g1 gaming, cherry picked chips.

all 390's are on the limit and there is nothing you can do.

Uh uh uh, 390s can still overclock to 1200 Mhz. That's like reaching 1550 on a 970. 390 gets more fps per clock, so in the end the results are still the same ;)

One problem with the gtx 970 is the coil whine.

My msi gtx 970 had coil whine, returned that, got the Asus gtx 970 that also had coil whine  <_<

Then got the G1 Gaming, which didn't´ so I guess that is the model to go with.

so it's similar, but then 970 is half the tdp  :(

it matters during summer, 150w is a big deal, it's like having one and a half person in a room. Not to mention psu also heats up more.

I can relate. I have a 290X and during the winter (in Toronto, it's like -20C outside) I don't have to heat my room when I am gaming  .
