Looking to upgrade GPU 600-700 budget

I am looking to upgrade my current gpu (GTX 750Ti 2gb, i do not wish to continue using this card) to something with 8GB of vRAM total, SLI prefered. I have around a 600-700$ CAD budget. No amd please. I want 2 cards. A 980 is simply too expensive and doesn't give me enough vRAM.

Current build:

CPU
Intel Core i7 4820K @ 3.70GHz
Ivy Bridge-E 22nm Technology

RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz (11-11-11-28)

Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. X79-UD3

Graphics
HP 23cw (1920x1080@60Hz)
X193W (1440x900@60Hz)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (Gigabyte)

Storage
2794GB Western Digital WDC WD30EZRX-00SPEB0 ATA Device (SATA)
223GB KINGSTON SV300S37A240G ATA Device (SSD)

PSU:
750Watt

2 970's will do but i would go gtx 980ti if you had the budget its better to get one fast single card vs dealing with sli.if i had your budget than i would go 2 970's.

you want 8gb of vram but you don't want amd?

even if you sli two cards with 4gb of vram each, it won't stack

go and buy dual 970's then

or

save up and buy a titan x

dx 12 will fixed all that btw titan x is cool but not worth it in my opinion i might have to get a second one pretty soon.
