Hi it's my first time building a PC and I need help. (I hope this is the right place to post this  )

My budget is about $800 and I still have to pick a monitor (1080p IPS). With all of this my total atm is $745

 

Also I live in the Philippines so things tend to cost a little more cause of customs and crap.

I would get a i3 and 950/280x for gaming. An ssd would be nice. Get a cheaper case if you don't need that case. You don't need that expensive of a mobo get a cheap b85/h97/h81 if you don't have a k series chip.

You might want to try and get an SSD for the OS as well if it is in the budget, 120 gb should be large enough.

 

Try to find a cheaper mother board, and get a 960 tier gpu. It will also help with power consumption

It says this board can have up to 16gb of ram. (which I might upgrade to cause I work with high res photoshop thingys a lot)

 

Which means i can afford a 960 Strix yay. Is that a good card? Also which one should it be the 2gb or the 4gb (the 4gb is about $60 more)

 

I kinda have to just pick a case based on what they have in store so I'll just get whatever is cheapest.

 

And for the SSD I can't really afford one atm, but I had read something that said I could partition 120gb on my HDD then clone it to an SSD when I can get one. (Will that work?)

Go a bit down on the mobo and CPU, and get a better GPU

 

Also, (this may be just me but) that case is fugly. Maybe spend a bit more on your case.

if you want a pc for gaming, don't buy an ips monitor

 

only buy a monitor with 144 hertz, 1ms, and gsync if you have an nvidia card

Hehe I forgot to put that I'm not doing any like hardcore gaming or anything. Although I would like to be able to play SWBF and World of Warships when they come out. I play an mmo, BF3, Skyrim and would like to play league.... also some Sonic. And of course Age of Empires 

 

I do a lot of digital painting so I want the ips panel cause of better color (I have a Nook HD+ tablet that has a 2k ips panel and like wow) Although again I kinda have to pick what they have at the store so yahhh (I wish I could order online here  )

 

Would an i5-4690 be better? That is also the cheapest Mobo they have.

I have another question too. I read some things that said I would need a Haswell non-refresh cpu to update the Bios on 8 series motherboards. So would that like be a problem?

I'm not sure. The i5-4590 is a relatively new cpu. it should be fine with the msi pc mate i suggested. you should update your bios to the latest official version anyway.
