Check my build for me?

Nonco

Hey guys,

Been building this for a friend who doesnt know much about PC's but would like something beasty yet not too expensive.

Main things I wasnt too sure on was wether the Z97 was necessary.

Also if that PSU is not too bad, I saw 80+ Gold and Semi-Modular so just went for that (The wattage should be fine)

Looks good ^_^

Keep the Z97 for an upgrade down the line if you plan on doing so.

Let me do a different build. I'll keep it in the same budget. BRB

Z97 shouldn't be necessary unless you plan on upgrading in the (near) future, or plan on heavy multiplier overclocking on the processor.

You should be fine with a Z87 motherboard. The power supply is not bad. I wouldn't go with the samsung 850 though. It's an awesome drive, don't get me wrong, its just that there are cheaper alternatives with little or no difference in performance in typical situations.

Heres a great build I made up. This build is not just really powerful, but also portable, so if you want to attend a lan party or just move this rig around it should be very easy  :)

Problem is that he's in Australia. Prices may vary significantly. I would still go with a cheaper ssd, but that's just me lol

If you want, ASUS has a Z97 PRO Gamer with nice LED "stairsteps" that look very cool as well as being cheaper.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

Thanks for all the tips guys sorry i was afk reading some reviews on the TT PSU.

I will further my research into the motherboard but I think I am pretty happy with where it is now if he decides to every upgrade to an overclocking CPU in the near future.

I know some parts may not be "budget" but he is happy to spend a little more on important parts to get something slightly more reliable. E.g. WD black instead of the Seagate barracuda.
