hello fellow doges

 

so i technically finished my build. i just need the GPU.

 

It will take me until July 25th to earn $300+ for a GTX 970

 

im basically stuck with the shitty ass intel HD graphics

 

is there any game that it can run? (no minesweeper pls)

 

specs are:

 

i5-4690

 

be quiet Dark rock pro 3

 

asrock H97

 

MSI gtx 970

 

850 evo

 

evga supernova gs

the 4690 has the intel 4600 gpu

its good enough to play alot of games at 720p at 30-40fps

People really underestimate the HD4600 graphics.

LoL and CS:GO on really low settings are probably your best bet.

 

Honestly though, forget the GTX 970 and get an R9 290. It's significantly cheaper and almost as good.

 

Also, if you haven't bought that aftermarket cooler yet, you can put that into your GPU too. Aftermarket coolers are pointless on locked CPUs since the stock coolers are sufficient, and you can't overclock so don't need any additional headroom.

for 30$ an aftermarket cooler is always worth it

runs cooler and quieter

the point of the Dark rock pro 3 is to silence the system more. kinda like Linus' build

reason why im getting the 970 is because the Twin Frozr V cooler is quiet as hell. thinking of getting a 390 though. im waiting to hear the acoustics of the Sapphire nitro.

No problem! Unless you are planning to play Dark Souls you can play a lot of games on 720p on low settings (sometimes low-meds) @ base clock or even if you can edit the inis enough, a higher resolution than that.

I was super shocked and impressed when it ran Alien: Isolation right off stock, and far more impressed when a simple overclock pushed it up so far.

Check this site out, it gives you suggested settings to run with your iGPU. You can also OC your iGPU to improve performance.
