Is My PC Build Good? Please Help!

My questions are pretty lengthy so If you're willing to help please do! I will GREATLY appreciate It! :D:):D

My PC :                 http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/gLwmZL                                ( I'm Not Overclocking Any Parts In my PC!)

I have finally decided which parts I plan on using in my first ever PC build!.. But sense I've never put a build together, and I'm not SUPER-Knowledgeable with PCs I have decided to come onto these forums and ask for your Help! What I want to know is:

  • Firstly Is my PC any Good?
  • Is the motherboard a good motherboard? Choosing my Mobo was a tough choice and I want to know if it's good, Is it known to be good? If you have used such a motherboard could you tell me if you had any problems with it, or did it work well?
  • Will my PC work with windows 10?
  • Is this EVGA model of the Gtx 970 good?
  • Will the Optical Drive be ok for playing game such as skyim? (or any similar priced Optical Drive?)
  • Is the power supply I choose suitable/good for my build? (THIS POINT IS IMPORTANT)
  • Finally one of the most IMPORTANT points do you recommended any different parts? Are any parts bad/won't work well with my PC? Are any parts "Overkill"?

That is it for my Build, Please, Please Reply, I know I asked a lot of questions but you would really be doing me a favor by helping me! Thanks! :D  I plan on playing games in 1080p 60fps at maxed out settings when possible! Games like: Skyrim, Gta V, Battlefield 4, Rust, Ark... etc...

The link you provided sends us to a blank build.

Is that the maximum amount of money you can spend? I would forgo the two sticks of RAM in favor of one stick of RAM.(single stick of 8GB)

No need to change fonts and sizes. You can just leave it at normal size :)

1. What do you want to do with your PC? It's a pretty decent PC for gaming but at what resolution and settings?

2. For a non overclockable CPU a Z97 board is not needed. Go for a H97 board instead, I would recommend the ASUS Pro Gamer H97 board instead.

3. Yes

4. Optical drives are optical drives. It'll be fine.

5. Yeah, if you want to get another 960 in the future more wattage will be needed though.

6. Different people have different meanings for overkill. Yet again, overkill for what?

Just tell me what resolution and settings you want to play on what games.

EDIT: Didn't see it was a 960. I would recommend a 380 or 280X

Yeah it seams fine the PSU should be good I have an EVGA 500w and it works. I don't think it's overkill. I think the motherboard is a good one. I think everything is good. Happy building!

That's a pretty nice build with a decent red and black aesthetic.

I have the same MOBO and its awesome but for your build since your not overclocking I would get a cheaper mobo such as an H97 version. Other than that, looks good.

yes I don't plan on spending any more. Can you explain to me why I should just get one stick of 8Gb rather than 2x4Gb sticks?

It maximizes upgradability. If you use a single stick of 8GB, you can have 32GB of RAM in the system maximum. If you have 4GB per slot, you can have a maximum of 16GB of RAM.
