and the things I have in mind right now are the PSU, the store im buying the PSU from might not have the EVGA one and I might get stuck with Corsair, any good Corsair PSU's?
also he might upgrade in the future to a 4k panel and he might just buy another 970 and SLI them but for now he's playing at 1080p 60 Hz
he's looking for raw performance and will be playing CPU intensive games like Arma 3 and Planeside 2 so I decided to pick the 4790k, even though he will be gaming and wont be doing any video editing so is that a good CPU?
Also in the future he asked me to overclock his CPU incase it gets old so I decided to pick the H100i to overclock with it, he doesn't care much about noise or looks, but I do so I went with a black and red theme for the build, and I will be doing the building of the system and the cable management, what do you guys recommend me of doing? I've built a decent amounts of PC so far, and no PC died or anything so I think I'm doing alright. :)

The summer sale is GOOOOOOOONE! Like a month ago!!!!! And it looks okay, just change the PSU to an EVGA Supernova G2 or GS and the processor to an i5 4690K.

Yup, I have to say 4690k overclocked over the 4790k even for CPU intensive games.

Sig under construction.

awww I didn't know that :/ yeah problem is the PSU might not be in the store where im shopping sadly, and he really want to get an i7 because he thinks its the best thing that exists so lets just say that he wont change that

Wow... He must want a lot of games if you have $400 to spare.

If he decides to use all $1700, either get another 970 and a better power supply, or get replace the 970 with a 980 Ti.

well, he wants to play all the latest games and such so might as well, the 980 Ti will make him go over budget because that thing here is really expensive, and he's planning on getting another 970 when he changes to 4K so I guess he'll be saving that money for now

sli 970 wont make for a nice 4k experiance, if the budget is 1700 get a 980ti

with this build would there be room for a 980 Ti? budget and PSU wise?

The PSU would be fine with a 980ti. There should be physical room inside the case, yes. That build also nicely color matches BTW

If 4K gaming is anticipated, stick with the i7-4790K. It is 500MHz faster than any i5 and overclocking can push it even higher. You might also consider going with a GTX 980 or 980 Ti if the budget allows, but only if 4K is really expected.

If SLI and overclocking is anticipated go with a 750W psu. Corsair HX750, HX750i, AX760, and AX760i are excellent psu. EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR is excellent, as are several Seasonic, Superflower, XFX, and Antec models.

You might consider going with a 250GB 850 EVO and getting a less expensive hdd.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

thanks for the comment, 4k is anticipated, and I think 970's in SLI will do as good if not better than a 980 Ti in 4K from what I've seen in videos and such, also he will only be installing the OS and maybe a game or two on the drive, so 250 GB isn't really wroth it for him. and I might concider the 750W PSU :)
