sound foam alternate

sound foam is expensive and i would like to know if i could get something that will stop the echo in my room. I would like for it too look nice and cheep. i do not care if i have to buy/make it.

Thick curtains work well just leave 6 inches between the wall and the curtain but if you need affordable sound foam try this place:
