What power supply do i need?

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

what if i at some point add another 980 ti? will i need even more then the hx1000i then?

thx for the responce sofar :)

An 850W would be fine for a 2nd card. If you are going to be overclocking the cpu and gpu's then go with 1000W as X99 cpu's are a bit more power hungry than Z97.

I would look at EVGA psu's as they are usually cheaper than Corsair. The EVGA G2/GS 850W, EVGA G2/P2/PS 1000W and EVGA GS 1050W are all very good.

was going to go for a HX1000i but was wondering if a HX850i would do just fine with thees specs

Sabertooth x99
5820k
32gb hyperx
some ssd's
2x980ti
h110i gt hydro

do i have a bigger powerdraw under load then the hx850i can handle or am i fine if i go for this psu?

850W should be enough for that rig. I doubt you'll end up using more. It's good to go for 850 over 750 though since you will also have an invaluable buffer for event such as spikes and etc.

I would get something other than the HX as there's better for the money (ahem, everything from EVGA these days)

EVGA has a nice name going to it these days so I think there are going to be some overpriced ones in there....

Everything will work well nonetheless, though we know to avoid most G1s and the NEX.

Well the GS is baller so I'd go for it. I own one already and it's awesome.

Yeah, technically the G2 (Leadex) is better but nobody will notice the difference
