Help needed!

leunaM

Hello there!

(I'm not sure whether to put this here in "Cases and Power Supplies" or "Graphics Cards", so I put it here!)

I am in needed of deciding what graphics card solution will do well with a SeaSonic G-Series 550 W Power Supply!

  • A card that will do well over a long period of time
  • A card that will not deteriorate other components due to its power usage.
  • A decent card for E-Sports games etc (LoL, CSGO, DOTA) and light usage of titles such as Far Cry, Skyrim etc.

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it!   :)

Probably should go in GPU sections.

As for what GPU what's your budget and current system spec.

My budget is $1700 AUD. I have already purchased the power supply and the case!

1920x1080 Res using a 144hz monitor!

Probably should go in GPU sections.

This is my build-

Fractal Design R5

i5 4690k

Asus Z97-a

Hyper X Savage 240GB SSD

HyperX Savage 16 GB RAM

WD Black 1TB

BenQ XL2420G

Noctua Nh-D15

And the aforementioned power supply!

For a 1080p 144Hz screen a GTX970 would basically allow you to play anything at pretty much max and use a total of around 400W during load I wouldn't do much overclocking though at that point.

Alright thanks!

I know this might seem a little lazy, but can anyone find the listed TDP's of most popular graphics cards?

Thanks again!

That Seasonic psu will handle pretty much any single graphics card.

I agree with W-L that a GTX 970 would be a good choice for that resolution.

Just for interest, which is the best variant for the non-reference 970's?

Gigabyte G1.

My personal choice also.

The asus strix may interest you also, it doesn't overclock as well in most cases but the 0db(fans off) mode could be attractive for less graphics heavy games.
