Turning glossy plastic matte

So i just bought a used pair or Sony MDR-ZX750BN's and the ear cups are a glossy plastic. I hate glossy finishes and want to change it to a matte finish. I want to know if instead of going for the brushed look with steel wool or sand paper if there is a spray paint or something like that, that just does a clear coat of a matte finish and if it will work on the plastic or if it won't bond well or if there are any other alternatives, thanks in advance.

A matte cleat coat would work well for this be sure to properly prep the surface for paint by lightly sanding or scuffing and cleaning to ensure proper adhesion.
