Make a program to save keywords/key-fraces in mySQL with a simple encryption method, so if someone gets to the keys server is not to easy to get the keys. I recommend using something simple as Cesar or ROT 13, make sure it puts an ID to the keyword, you can also make the program save the user name of that account and some more info if you want.

I know this app is easy to code and easy to use, I'm finishing my version.

Why does it seem that after the first hour or so, replies stop coming?

Because it gets boring, there are so many of these particular kind of topics. Most of us here probarbly won't even reply.

Oh look at that... I wasn't going to but I did :P

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

A brute force sudoku solver is a fun thing to do when you're just starting with a language IMO.

Develop a nice looking android app.

Maybe invest into something that uses a Google Maps API, or some other really cool API. Just for the sake of understandings how it works.

Maybe use the ticketmaster/stubhub API to get data, and display it (events in your location).

Maybe buy an arduino and xbee controllers, and send communication from the java app to the xbee to control the arduino, hooked up to a small RC car.

Or just create nice GUI, using java FX, accompanied with css (for a pleasing look). Maybe use it as a simple login/register web service (of course you will need to have your own web service as well, but it could be fairly cheap). If you can't get the web service, just make one with functioning Login/Register, and other working buttons to show you know how to get the actions to work.

The java FX one is potentially particularly easy, with the use of SceneBuilder (http://gluonhq.com/products/scene-builder/).

You just drag and drop components for the view. The controller part you need to code, of course.

There are unlimited projects you could work on. Just gotta put your mind to it.

Holy crud dude.  I could do a lot of that stuff fairly easily.  I have a web hosting service and a website already, I have an arduino(but no xBee).  Woah.
