In need of opinions on 1440p and 4K and particularly a couple of monitors

My birthday is coming up in the beginning of next month and I was looking into treating myself with a new high-res monitor. Right now I have an LG 24'' 1080p IPS screen and an old Dell 19'' TN that I use as a secondary monitor for Skype, Facebook, etc.

Firstly, I really wanted to go 4K, cause its the best thing out there, but then when I took a closer look at some benchmarks, even high end cards struggle at that resolution and I really want to have all of my in-game settings as high as possible. Therefore, I started researching the 1440p options and I came with a couple on which I need some opinions.

 - Asus PB287Q - A good overall  monitor, with really nothing special to offer. Its a bit old now, but it was a favorite of Linus and has a pretty appealing price of 450 euros.

 - HP Envy Media Display 32'' - Unique and beautiful design. I really like that it is a big screen, because as I don't own a dedicated TV, but only a digital tuner, the extra screen size could come in handy for watching movies and YouTube videos. From what I've read online it is a solid choice, but the WVA panel it uses concerns me a bit, cause I was not able to find anything about it. This one retails at around 500 euros.

- Asus MG 279Q - The best 1440p screen out there, imo. Not only does it have an IPS panel it is also 144hz, not that it is too important for me, I am not a competitive gamer at all, I mostly play GTA V, DOTA 2 and occasionally Skyrim and some other RPGs. This one retails for 600 euros.

So yeah these are the options I have looked into. I am open to other recommendations too, however, the monitor has to be bigger than 27'', have perfect viewing angles and a matte screen bezel. Price wise, I can go up to 600 euros. I am currently in Germany.

PS: My current GPU is a MARS GTX 760x2, which although quite powerful only has 2GB of VRAM. I will be getting a new graphics card this September, though - either a GTX 980 TI or a Fury X, depending on their pricing at the time.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here

I think i would hit up the MG 279Q purely for that refresh rate, i got an rog swift of late and although not a competitive gamer the fluidity is a beautiful thing to behold :3

 - Asus PB287Q - I say this after looking at your uses

 - HP Envy Media Display 32'' -No No No No HP never ever No Not Happening please do not get HP

- Asus MG 279Q - Well you really don't play those super competitive games as you said above.Might help in GTA V a bit but really no point in getting this unless you actually need those 144hz

Did you mean the Asus PG279Q? It's not out yet. I'm waiting for that one to come out. I vote for that one.

Unless you get an AMD card 'cause that one has G-Sync.

The Asus MG279Q does Freesync even though it only goes up to 90Hz with Freesync enabled.

Nope, I meant the MG279Q, because I am not really interested in neither G-Sync or Freesync. All I want is a nice big monitor with a quality panel that has wide viewing angles. If it happens to G-Sync or Freesync, then that is an added bonus.

Does anyone know what exactly this WVA technology HP and some others use in their monitors. From what I've read is something in between of VA and IPS, but...
