1080p ULTRA gaming build thoughts?

As title says, for 1080p Ultra gaming settings do you think this is a good build?

That will do Ultra 1440p in 90% of games, the 980Ti is AMAZING.

Good build. The power supply is absolute overkill though. Get a 550-600W. The GPU can be a 980- 980ti is aimed at ultra 1440p gaming.

Two fixes:

1. HyperX Savage RAM not Fury.

2. Fury X instead of 980Ti.

You have put too much in the graphics card... a OC 970 for 1080p is enough for ULTRA.

But I know sometime you just fell in love with a graphics card and welll So I would upgrade to 16Gb of ram.

Maybe a Corsair RM 850W would perfect.

 

And... your are ready to go

The case is enormous, you could get something smaller for a more focused airflow

 

At that price point I'd step up to the i7 4790K

 

The Motherboard is a bit underhwelming compared to the rest of the build but it's good.

 

The Kraken X61 is very large, keep that in mind when shopping for a case. 

 

The Power supply is massive overkill for this build. You could go with the 850W version if you want to keep room for a future SLI, or jsut go with a 500W PSU.

 

At this price point I'd again step up to 16 GB of RAM, however its not needed.

 

 

Edit: oh yeah, this would be a 1440P ULTRA PC then. 1080P ULTRA is possible for less than half of the money.

Oh that build would be absolute beast at 1080P and 1440P, and i believe the PSU is to leave room for a future 980ti. and i'm sure that build is capable of doing 1080P and 1440P surround too in future as well.

 

if you are going to stick with the single 780ti you would be  fine with just going with a G2 750W or 850W.

 

how much are you going to OC the CPU to? i'm curious.

Here the decent 980Tis cost 1000 more which may be around 100 USD!

 

The only Ti that is near the same price is the dumb blower models...

for 1080p just get any i5, 8gb of any ddr3-1600 dual channel kit, and  GTX 970. rest of the parts don't really matter for performance unless you want to overclock, then make sure you get a 4690k, a good z97 motherboard, and a decent cpu cooler.
