What CPU do you have installed?

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Okay, I looked into it further and I don't know if you'll be able to do much if anything. First, because it uses a slim case you will only be able to use a half height card. Second, that power supply has no PCIe cables. Third, even if it did I would not touch that power supply with anything less than a ten foot, rubber insulated, wooden pole. I never trust off brand power supplies, let alone ones that aren't in any standard form factor. This means that HP does not need to pass any of the validation tests that standard specifications require.

My advice is to toss that piece of junk (or better still, donate it to a second hand store / get it recycled) and drop about $500 to build your own PC. Feel free to message me if you need help with that.

Build one. If you go on pcpartpicker.com it'll show you everything you need. Just make sure you get the right socket cpu for the motherboard you pick and that the power supply can support all of the hardware you pick. But if you don't know how to build one, then you could always go to cyberpowerpc, piglet, ironside, etc. to have them build it for you

It is what it is

I would recommend looking stuff up and learning more about computers. Seems boring and it is but its good info to have. Also if you don't know what to get ask around in the pc building section and tell what ur budget and im sure somebody can help u out. Thats how i got my build.

If you don't wanna build which i don't recommend at all since pre builds are garbage over priced pieces of shit , but if u want it pre built go to cyber power or i buy power or something like that.

I recommend buying parts and building one yourself. It might seem confusing before the first time you build one, but building computers is one of those rare instances where it's literally easier done than said.

What are your goals with the computer? Playing games? Will it be a workstation? At what resolution will you be doing stuff? What's your budget? There are tons of people on here that will help you pick the parts you need.

The reason I recommend building is that it's a lot cheaper and I think it's a cool experience to put computers together.

I would recommend a new PC, first and foremost, but if not, depending on the rear card slot height, a 750 Ti or regular 750 would do wonders. The card doens't require extra power and turns your crappy PC into a modest gaming PC.
