Recommendation for Budget Graphics Card

Hello wonderful people of the LLT forum! I seek advice.

About 3 months ago one of my friends made Austin Even's $300 gaming PC. He is now looking to upgrade, with a budget of $200. If anyone could recommend a graphics card within that price range that is compatible with his motherboard it would be most appreciated.

You can see the build components here: http://austinnotduncan.com/builds/boson/

-So far he's upgraded from that to another 4gb stick of ram.

-Also, there was a mix up with the PSU and he ended up with a 750W power supply.

Also, I'm not to sure but i think the Motherboard he has only supports PCI-E 2.0.

Thank you for any and all help!

You can use a 4gb and a 2gb. Only prob is you only get the lower of the two I do believe.

AFAIK it has to be 2 identical cards, so it has to be 2x 2GB 770's

Only thing that can vary with SLI is the vendor, so you can SLI a 2GB EVGA 770 and a 2GB Asus 770 but not a 4GB EVGA and 2GB any other 770.

Buy used buy used buy used buy used buy used buy used.

And upgrade CPU as well.

He has the best CPU that his motherboard supports.

I figured that a graphics card would improve performance the most for $200.

Jeez I would upgrade the CPU first lol....I think that is going to bottleneck anything it has in it.

But maybe a R9 270 would do nicely. It's quite powerful for a card.

Really? That's excellent! In that case I had suggested the he go with a sapphire radeon R9 R70 and save alittle money to put towards a new motherboard down the road. Thoughts?

I would get an R9 270. That way he could get a better mobo. Ask him what motherboard he has.

Sell the Athlon and Mobo and 240 for about 40-60$?

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pfq8P6
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pfq8P6/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 3.6GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($108.95 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($69.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $178.84
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-07-04 00:33 EDT-0400

then any money gotten from selling the athlon + mobo + 240 , go get a used 7850.

then that would do good

then if need's be you can go upto a i5 4460 (with skylake around the corner hopefully prices for them will drop if your friend wants to go up a notch) or a 7950/7850 crossfire.

however ....what kind of 750W PSU?....if it's cheap brand i would not do any upgrade until it is replaced.

Hey bro i like yo *vomits on you*

So my friend is kinda skeptical with the websites, do you know if they are reputable?

Superbiiz is based in California and Outlet PC is based in Nevada.  At least they are in the US.  I think you'd be alright

also i don't believe PC Part picker would put them on their site if they were shady. however

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-I3-4160-Processor-Hyper-Threading-BX80646I34160/dp/B00LV8U0VE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435988282&sr=8-1&keywords=i3+4160

there's amazon links if it helps :3. but usually PCpartpicker selects who sells the components cheapest from a select group of retailers i believe.
