PC wont boot up

gabbdogg

Ok guys good day,

So I was just playing some CSGO Competitive, and then suddenly my PC turns off.

I thought I just pulled the cord, so I thought it was just a normal power surge.

I turned it on, and I was greeted with a screen from the BIOS, saying it has to go to the BIOS to solve the power surge.

Until it started turning on and of

Over and over again

Idk what part is causing this pls help

I dont have pics for reference srry.

*Specs are in my sig..

Do you have any other PSU you could test your components with ?

First, in bios, check that all your part are showing up. If they all are, check the psu.

You probably doesn't have a PSU tester, but you could have multimeter. You can check the voltages with that if you have it. :)

Jump the green and black wires together with a paperclip and nothing else connected to the supply but like a fan or something. see if it works.

Not to be douche, but that only tells you if the PSU is working or not. This one seems to be partially working. Problem is that from what I read the Asus power surge protection check for fluctiation in voltages and doesn't let you boot to save other components. I may be wrong though.

I know, I have serviced switchmode supplies before. If that worked, I would have them try running the fan off of other voltage rails and seeing if they ran it on a lower speed as well as most people do not own a multimeter.

Hey everyone starts here.

This is the bios battery:

This is a guide on testing a power supply:

Good luck!

No problem at all, better to admit that you need help, than trying to be smartass. I respect that. :)

I would not bet my money on the CMOS battery, but you can try that. @iamdarkyoshi provided the picture.

Multimeter is used to measure voltages, current and resistivity + you can check if something does or does not conduct electricity and go from there. You can also get a PSU tester, which is a little bit more user friendly. A big + is that it also shows Power Good values = Power good value is based on the delay in ms, that a power supply takes to become fully ready. Should not be lower than 100ms and higher than 500ms.
