Good BASS headphones?

Hi everyone. I am looking for good headphones with a LOT of bass or my own enjoyment, no studio use I just want to listen to music (EDM, Trap, Electronic, Deep House etc...)

Would listen to it on the buss so it cant have a open backside or whatever it is called.

Right now I am thinking of the SE-MX9 by Pioneer or the... (dont hate me) Beats Solo 2. Heard people who were sceptical but they were surprised how great they actually were, I dont know.

Examples: SE-MX9 or Beats Solo2

Price Range: Up to 170$

Any recommendations?

 NOTICE

EDIT: Thanks for all the replies, most of the heaphones seemd really good but the price tag was also very high on most of the ones.

To explain a bit more in depth: I want a good pair of headphones with a lot of bass, probably no over ear headphones more maybe on ear because Im looking to use it in public while taking the buss or maybe even in school, something casual that will easily fit in my backpack. Is there any user of the SE-MX9 here?

So something similar to the Beats Solo2 or the SE-MX9. Thanks!

Try on some planar headphones first, to fully understand which one you want, quality or quantity. Planars are mostly above $300, but perhaps you can find used for below $200, or save some more money to get a new one.

I used to think I'm about quantity, but planars proved me wrong. It's quality I'm after

well i have the Sony MDR XB 700 and love them but on their own their are great but not that bass heavy

but with proper equalizer settings they can putout pretty heavy bass (realy like your taste in music btw)

but they are open back and pretty big. also i kinda hard to get by around here.

i knoow they dont fit your needs exactly but they are the only headphones i can honestly recommend since ive been using them for years now and for at home listening through an amp or at least with heavy euqalizer they are awesome in terms of sound quality.

still i know they are probably not good for your needs but they are the only ones i have tested enough to recommend.

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

why do people like planars? I thought the sound was so odd and unnatural tbh

Depends on which one. T50RP on its own sounds weird to my taste, but I blame the design. It got good drivers, but badly designed cups. Modded T50RP (alpha dog, mad dog, etc) sounds awesome.

Again, depends. T50RP is semi open (more like closed, with just a few open ribs), LCD-XC is fully closed. Hifiman is all open. There might be others that I've never seen or tried, like oppo maybe?

I'm talking about the HE-560s, I hated them. Much happier with my T1s

heck, I would've taken my old 1540s over the 560 tbh

Probably the general sound signature then. All planars I've tried accentuate lower mid (warmth) range, and got that 'in your face' feeling of sounds. Dunno why, but higher frequencies on planars tend to be sharp and intrusive. Maybe stereotyping, but that's what I felt.

I ACTUALLY own a pair of those, and they are amazing. Just so you know though, they are also semi open, so they have the same issues as opens...

Edit: I have a really big head, so they also look somewhat normal on me.

Hey! New SIgnature!
