SP fan - the best one?

1Scotty1

Hey, folks

I need to find the best 120mm fan for a radiator, so the higher the static pressure the better. It will be used for the 980Ti hybrid cooler (once it is in stock and I order it) :)

Needs to be either all black or black/white combo - no other colors acceptable.

And since I will be getting only a single one, budget isn't really an issue ;)

Also, don't recommend the Noctua Industrial please, I don't want a jet engine in my rig :P

Thanks a bunch

For rads it's more pressure oriented fans than CFM since they are directly related to each other if pressure goes up CFM goes down. E-loops or not bad, others such as the EK Vardars and Corsair SP120 are decent.

Yeah, I confused the two terms, will correct OP, thanks ;)

Also, this is my rig, the 980Ti hybrid will be as rear exhaust, so the color scheme should fit there:

@1Scotty1

The fairly new Fractal design Venturi fans look promising on paper but I've haven't seen them around much as of lately;

Yeah, I wanted the Venturi, but cant find it anywhere near here :(

Don't you mean the EK Vardars resemble the Gentle Typhoons?

Gentle Typhoons came first. EK Vardars were only just announced back in November. They also perform significantly worse than Gentle Typhoons.

GT are amazing sadly not many places have them now, wish I bought some before they went out. There is an all black version though which might suit your fancy, it's fairly high RPM but can idle down pretty quiet:

I am more leaning towards the Venturi, once I find a retailer that actually sells them...

If you don't like the Noctuas, Gentle Typhoons, or EK Vardars, maybe consider Noiseblocker eLoops, Akasa Apaches, Rosewill Hyperboreas, or Cougar Vortexes. Most Phanteks fans are quite well optimized for static pressure as well.

I have Noiseblocker eLoops as intakes on my H440, so I might as well get that ;) but thanks for a wide list of fans to consider :)

Ah that may also be the reason why I haven't seen much of them. NCIX seems to have some in stock:

Good lord, I don't want to see shipping to Europe

That's because the Vardars are EK's "remake" of gentle typhoons.

Yeah, noticed :D but like I said, I am leaning more towards the Venturi fans (if I find a local seller) and if not, then the Noiseblockers :)

Welp - the Fractal Venturi are out... they only come in PWM, and the 980Ti hybrid is a 3pin, so no dice... the Noiseblocker eLoops are my best bet I guess
