Try looking into Ultrabooks, Macbooks are not ideal for everyone.

to big for me (weigh and such) :)

Macbook air seems big enough for me

It's just 3 and a half pounds, have you tried lifting it in a Apple Store?

The newest macbook is lighter, and thinner than the air though.. and has a better screen...

Really though, you'll pay out the ass for a not really enticing product.. I know you said you didnt want windows, but they are the most efficient option without having a single port, or bullshit temperature controll.

If there will be a Retina grade MBA, it'll be awhile before it's announced or even released. If you really want a Retina display, the MBP 13" is the cheapest it gets, and it's better spec'd than the MBA anyway.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

The closest competition to the MacBook Air is the ASUS UX305, and the issue with it is that it's equipped with only a Core M 5Y10 which will throttle quickly in comparison.

Also, the MacBook Air is not the MacBook. The Air has an air cooled i5 and multiple ports.

I never said the macbook was a macbook air... I was talking about the 2015 macbook.

Macbook is better than Windows if you're using it for non-gaming...

very highly debatable.

The Macbook Air is also an ultrabook; it pretty much created the whole ultrabook formfactor as we know it.

Core M is designed for bursty workloads, not a continuous Cinebench run. It's much like the Snapdragon SOCs that exist in Android handsets- designed to throttle.

very highly debatable.

I agree. You can't compare an operating system to a laptop.

Well, everyone thought that a retina MBA was right around the corner, but then Apple threw the Macbook at us, so there's really no telling. The MBA line of products may be dead entirely (sadly).

If they were to announce it, it would be at their keynote in October (since the one in September is usually reserved for new iPhones). That's probably too late for you since you need it for school.

My school starts end augustus/ early september I could wait till october/november. The macbook is beautifull but I worry about the cheapest cpu in there + the 1 port is just stupid >< Might just go with macbook pro then I really want the ratina ;p
