Gentle Typhoon AP-30s

Mr.Dingle

Can these be plugged into a motherboard , or MUST be plugged directly in the PSU via the 4 pin molex ?

Motherboard in question is a Z97-A , and while it says it supports up to 12W ( 12V x 1A ) , they can draw more than the rated 12W at startup , while once they get running they should be fine ...

Off their site :

4250RPM version - 12V DC , operating current 0,56 A , startup current 1,35A

Oh ok

4250 rpm doe, do you plan on keeping your ears ? If not, just ebay them before installing the fans :P

What you can do is power it off the PSU and run the PWM from the mobo ( are they PWM ? the site and google say no ))

Best not to run them off the mothboard but with 4250RPM fans it will be fairly loud even when dialed down.

I like how they note this in their specs sheet ;):

# Do not injure yourself ! Fan speed is very high !

# Only connect to peripheral 4-Pin from PSU to draw power.

its not a very cheap fan , and i do plan on using it in the H440 , right now a single one blowing directly at the GPU , using the middle 120mm slot in the H440 , while later on with a PROPER gpu , the front of the case will be gentle ;)

The yellow wire is a RPM signal from the fan ot the motherboard .. dont know how can you actually control the fan thru that , for PWM you need to fourth wire , to send the PWM signal ..

Well you might want to get an inline controller ? running it off the mobo isn't a good idea.

But those speeds don't bother you ?

( I fried a fan header by idiotically shorting the power and ground instead of the pwm and tach signals )

i never actually cared about noise , since the last case i had ( NZXT Beta Evo ) literally had no concern for noise or anything , so i got used to it .

Il try to find those in my local shop , or il just make one myself ... tho dont know how "smart" would it be to connect something homemade to the mobo ...
