Well they are pretty much the same, just one is 4k one is 1080p

So if you're willing to spend the extra money get the 4k one, just remember your PS4 wont really benefit much from the 4k display, but for normal use it will look a little bit nicer

Samsung as for a TV, but better look for a cheaper 1080p panel if u wanna play a console on it, you can even get a hd-ready tv, it's even cheaper. And won't stress your console

So which one is better?

If you want 4k and have the extra money to spend get the Samsung

If you want to save money and have the Android TV instead of Samsung's smart TV stuff then get the Sony

The Samsung is 'Better' spec wise because it's 4k, but it's just about what you're willing to spend and what you want, because you wont gain an advantage when playing your PS4 on the 4K and there isn't a lot of 4K TV content so most of it will just be upscaled anyway (Which is better but it isn't 4k still)

I have 2 TVs in my house, they both have 3D, NOT because I like the feature, and I've only used the 3D once when they first came, it's a useless gimmick of a feature imo and the only reason TVs are still shipped with them is because it's another thing to add to spec sheets.

Maybe some people do actually like it, but I wouldn't pick 3D over 4K, it's such an irrelevant feature in my eyes that I glanced over the sony one even having it  :D

  • 2 weeks later...

I used to repair tvs for a big name chain in the states. The way I look at tvs now is how long they will last you. Granted I never really knew the numbers of units our stores were pushing on Samsung versus Sony or etc, but I found myself repairing a lot of Samsung products due to the lack of quality used in the production of their main boards.

If I were buying a new tv today, I wouldn't dare look at a Samsung. I would only really look at Sony, LG, or Panasonic but that is just my two cents.
