Will my FX 8320e OC'd to 4.8 Ghz bottleneck my GTX 980 Ti?

I'm going to order a 980 Ti to replace my XFX 7770, and I was wondering would the 980 TI be fine paired up with my current CPU? I plan on upgrading to an i7 4790k by next month.

Only at SUPER high resolutions, 4K and such,...FORCING GPU BOUND scenario's would you not see dropped GPU usage.

CPU is too long in the tooth for a 980Ti @ consumer resolutions, its too long in the tooth for even lesser powerful GPUs to shine.

My 8350 at 4.9GHz would bottleneck a GTX 780, so yes, you will encounter bottlenecks.

 

With the i7-4790k, you'll be fine. There's currently not a CPU that would be better.

Yes, however if you're going for an i7 next month dont let that stop you from buying the 980ti.

Yeah FX is made for 290X max or the 970 a 390 or 980 or HIGHER which in your case will yes unless you play at 4K...
