dual d5 pump question

Hey guys

i have a big problem with my cpu and gpu temperatures after gaming the temperature will not drop and will stay at 45 for the gpu and 50-55c on the cpu

i cleaned the loop and replaced all coolant and tubing and even cleaned all waterblocks in the inside and remounted every block multiple times

because im running a ram block, motherboard block,2x r9 290 fullcover blocks and a big car radiator and alot of tubing i think the loop is restrictive

and for that reason i bought a second d5 pump

my question:

is it possible to mount the 2nd d5 pump before the inlet off the car radiator or is a dual d5 top way better?

a dual d5 top is quite expensive and pretty big so i dont think it will fit in my case

what is the best thing i can do ?

thanks in advance

seeing outside temps this time of years i wouldnt say those temps are too bad.

also, i hope the car enthousiasts of the forum can quote on the efficiency of using car radiators for pc cooling.

It just needs to be in the loop in serial honestly, the reason most people mount it right after their res in the loop is you never ever want a pump to run dry, and that's the one place it's never going to happen unless you have no fluid at all.

yeah as long as the pump flow is in the right direction, you can mount pumps anywhere in the loop

just make sure it never runs dry

ok thanks guys so its not a big diffrence if i place it from car rad outlet back to the pc ? i will make sure it will never run dry

i was wondering if that will make a diffrence because most people use a dual d5 top and the pumps are next to eachother

so i will get better flow and head pressure?

thanks alot

Using pumps in series usually give better pressure especially right beside each other, if you have it later in down the loop where the pressure and flow drops drops it can give another boost which is a good spot to place it.

Sounds like you got your temps down a bit from last time I saw your build.

if i use the 2nd pump at the inlet of the external car rad thats in series right?

paralell is when you use dual loops?

my temps are not better they are worse it was better before i got the ram block and motherboard block :)

Yes putting it in front of the car radiator is not a bad idea and in series which will increase pressure and flow through the rad especially if it's very restrictive.

Parallel pumps isn't used much but more like splitting the line so you have two lines one going into each pump and on the outlet the same thing merging the lines together. It would give redundancy but a series loop would also do the same.

Watercool everything!   And a second pump should help from the looks of things it might just be a low flow rate.
