Project Cube

I am going to build a new PC by Summer ends. I have the parts picked out and ready to buy on PC Part Picker. The primary function of this build is for gaming, but also if I can successfully build a quiet gaming MATX PC. This PC will be my second PC build and I wanted some opinions on the parts I picked and if you guys would do this build? Also which fans would you guys recommend for this build?

I see you like to match brands... Darkside gentle typhoons on performance pcs are more silent that Noctuas.

4790K is not necessary for gaming, go with a 4690K and invest the saved cash for a better GPU ;) plus, that PSU is overkill, a 650W would be enough

This is very similar to my build.

A word of warning, with that GPU, there will be a very tight amount of space for a H100i. I went with the H80i and works amazingly. If you do decide to keep the H100i, there is no way youll be able to do push-pull config. Only push or pull. Even then the space will be tight and then you might end up blowing warmer air onto your GPU.

Check out my pcpp link in my signature if you wanted to see pics of it all.

Don't want to be a dick, but push/pull is not needed that much, many times it yields a temperature difference of 1-2°C which is not worth it

I will also be using this for 3d modeling and rendering, and UE4.

Then keep the 4790K :) but the PSU is still a bit much, you can do well with a 650-750W one

I dont have mine set on push pull anymore, was too loud and didnt give much improvement.

But again, there is such a tiny amount of room for the H100i to fit. I would highly reccommend going for the H80i with this case and that GPU.

True :) I keep my Kraken X61 in push only too, even though I have the H440, if I put it to push/pull, the fans would overlap my motherboard and some cables wouldn't connect, like the 8pin mobo connector :D but I am pretty happy with temps, even though the H440 has airflow issues, which I will get rid of soon :D

@cjunit Here is a photo of a rough idea of the clearance youd have if you use the H100i

It would probably be touching the rad.

I thought about it, and I don't think I am gonna for water cooling.

And also Linus Tech Tips did a review of the case, and they said good things about it, but they showed it with an H100i water cooler, but there's not much room for it.

Yeah upto you man. H80i works pretty well with the Air 240.

Because it has lots of small room to work with make sure you check dimensions of everything!

That GPU would also be shorter than the Gigabyte 970.

Also im not too sure, is the H100i thinner than the H80i radiator?
