It was sarcasm lol, I could use one myself, I just don't feel like dropping $20 or so on a decent one that I can use to burn disks the once in a blue moon that I want to, or read shiz from a disk which I also hardly ever do...

They are something to have, but not used as much anymore. An external ODD is a great solution these days :)

I know, right? 99% of people say that ODDs are dumb, yet it is very necessary, even for me... I rather buy a physical copy of a game, and not download it... games are getting bigger and bigger and my shitty 300kbps download speed cringes like sh*t

I and many people I know still use ODDs a lot. Reason why? Car too new for cassette adapter, too old for aux input, too broke to get an aftermarket stereo. MP3 CD ftw

Lol, my car has both a ODD and cassette player xD

Probs gonna rip em both out or something and replace the ODD with a little storage compartment for shit like my phone and upgrade the receiver/cassette player to something better.

Very true, also in some instances using ODD is faster than using internet to get a piece of software on to a computer. My internet is by no means fast (12mbps down, 7mbps up) it would be faster for me to install via a disk rather than my internet [Fortunately Steam does allow for you to get a physical game copy/key and integrate that game into Steam.]

To anyone saying they are useless, I still use my blueray ODD all the time.

Wishing leads to ambition and ambition leads to motivation and motivation leads to me building an illegal rocket ship in my backyard.

USB is the future :P It's a pocket-sized disk

I would only see it for installing Windows.
