Intel 750 Series SSD

Hi all, I'm wondering if there's any other storage that's on the market right now that has the same or better or at least competing performance to the Intel 750 Series SSDs? (Specifically PCI-E based SSDs)

Wait until the beginning of 2016. There should be some competing stuff out by then.

HolySh*t!!!!!

Waaay too expensive...

yeah

the 750 is an enterprise SSD with a consumer price

if you really need that speed, this is the best solution

oh and keep in mind booting from it is complicated and will take a few hours to set up

not really a great OS drive

Samsung SM951 M.2 NVME performs better than the 750 Series overall.  It just doesn't have a huge capacity.

I have this drive and booting from it is very easy.  I would even go so far as to say that it was actually easier to set this drive up than my Samsung 840 pro drive.  Also, I just completed my first build (using this as one of my many drives) and it literally took me 3 minutes to install the thing, get set as the boot drive and begin the windows installation process.  Overall, probably a 15 minute job including the install time.  I will however agree that this drive takes longer to boot than my 840 pro did.

Do not ask what the world needs.  Instead ask what makes you come alive, and go and do it.  Because what the world needs, is people who have come alive.

Well, don't you just have to have an UEFI os install and you should be good?

There is honestly nothing in that stratosphere, however that being said the fan favorite before that one came around was the G.SKILL Phoenix Blade - http://www.anandtech.com/show/8752/gskill-phoenix-blade-480gb-pcie-ssd-review

Instead of using a new standard of NAND addresssing, it was essentially an internal raid card that used old tech to boost performance.
