i7 4790K w/ GTX 970

Advic3
Go to solution Solved by vSyNd1c4t3,

Please make me a build with these parts. Not a 1tb storage -  have one. and a 980ti with 4690k

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/chTCWZ

Edit:

And that is with the more expensive EVGA 980 Ti. You could get a $20-40 cheaper one.

If i'm spending this much anyway should I just get a 980?

I would first ask, what are you using the i7 for?

No, if this is for gaming, do the following changes -

1. SSD to 850 EVO or OCZ Arc100

2. Add Seagate Barracuda 1TB for mass storage

3. Downgrade the Mobo to something cheaper

4. Change 4790k to 4690k

5. Use the money saved to get either a 980ti or FuryX

You should Just upgrade to a 980 since your processor has the ability to handle just about any GPU.

Are you going to store everything on that one SSD or do you already have a secondary storage drive?

I like the build... couple questions.

1. Do I not need a water cooler?

2. I want 1866 ram, whats the best?

3. Kinda hate the case lol not a question.

4. Is my PSU not enough? 600w?

Before anything else, and other people have asked it as well, what are you doing with the PC?

Component choices will vary (given a fixed budget) for different use scenarios.

If you're gaming, what kind of games? What kind of experience are you after? Are you planning future upgrades?

1. 4690k? No, You don't need one.

2. Why do you want/need it? Seems useless, numbers aren't everything.

3. Saving money to get more performance? I think it's worth it. but if you really don't like it, just find something else you like <$80. Replace it. My feelings wont be hurt.

4. Oh, you already own it? Yea, it's fine. Sorry.

Revised build.

No PSU, Original Case, Different 980 Ti Choice

Why different 980 Ti choice? It has a higher base clock than the EVGA, and it fits the color scheme better for the same price.
