We need much more information before we can help you.

Biggest things are

A. What is your budget?

B. What is the computer for?

With that people can generally pick out good parts.

Other things we need to know are things like are you comfortable putting it together yourself? Do you just want a parts list so you can pay someone else to put it together. Are you willing to do research and watch videos on how things are done if you don't know.

That will tell you price and compatibility.

We still need to know what the computer is for.

For instance if you just want to video edit and render the fx 8350 not a bad choice it can match (and beat in some cases) a $300 i7 but it will lose to i5 in gaming.

~snip~

Hey amiellini and welcome to the community :)

The plan seems somewhat good. @Hunter7263 gave you some good advice so I'd check that out.
Regarding the storage, WD Red is a drive designed for NAS and RAID environments. It has additional features that enable it to work safer and more optimal in such environments compared to regular drives. Having it in a regular desktop without putting it in a RAID array wouldn't utilize those features and would work as a regular normal drive (pretty similar to WD Green: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=z4pw7I

I'd suggest going with either WD Blue or WD Black for the most optimal and efficient storage solution for your budget and aims. Here are links to both drives:

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
