They are not much worse than many 100$ headphones. These could be fun, they look good and they sound pretty good. 

The real dealbreaker is the hiss from the noise cancelation.

imo if your kid feels the need of any sort of status symbol to be on top of his friends then you aren't raising him correctly.

Yeah of course but it is an inevitable unspoken truth of many purchases by human beings, especially with products like Beats.

Eh, I'd rather stick to my T400s, and CHC Laredos which I think sound better and are a better value. Especially since I got my T400s for $40 new instead of like $60-$85 and my Laredos $20 instead of $50.

I was given a pair of beats executive headphones as a gift for my birthday a year ago and well the day after I sold them for $300 and got some games instead lol

I prefer my Cheaper studio monitors (Superlux HD-668B) but if that's what you like, it's an alright deal I guess.
