The mobo tray was adopted from an old cooler master case I had laying around. I used a Dremel to cut it out, and than painted it black.

The project has been delayed a bit. I helped my dad clean up his garage in the past three days, and his garage is not small by any means. But a new update is expected tomorrow evening.

Last week the products I ordered from Aqua Computer and the cables from Icemodz arrived. The cables Icemodz made look amazing! Products from Aqua Computer include:

- Aqearo 5 LT (fancontroller)

- Farbwerk (LED controller)

- 5 meters of 5050 RGB LED strip

 

The products from Be Quiet! should arrive next week.

 

 

The next update of the case itself, will be online either tomorrow evening or monday evening.

Well, for those of us who don't, what I said was that those special nuts he has would've come in handy when I built my machine about a year ago. But back then I didn't know what they're called. And now I do because it says "inslagmoeren" on the bag. In Dutch. Still no idea what they're called in English. If anyone can tell me that'd be great.

So: inslagmoer = T-nut

Won't small, thin wood pieces warp if the internal temperatures in the case are constantly 50C+, as is normal in most computer cases during the summer ? They might especially warp from dramatic changes in temperature caused by turning off your PC at night. And the wood glue you've used might melt as well near the power supply exhaust or other exhaust areas of the case.

Probably a little but changes in humidity cause more warping than changes in temperature, I would have thought. Also, with plywood it's not too bad.

I experienced wood warping a lot when building my first wooden case. It is usually caused by differences in humidity. But the humidity levels in our home are pretty constant. And I know some wooden parts will stil warp. So most of the internal part are dismountable and replaceable. The parts who don't, are reinforced with some extra wood.

 

And the glue I am using can hold up to 60 degrees celcius. The PSU will never succeed that temperature and that is the only area where it is realy important that the glue will hold. Other parts are also reinforced in other ways.

Wont the hard drives vibrate in that cage you built? (The one with holes) or are they for the ssd?

I will fill that cage up with SSD's. But if there ever has to be an 2.5 HDD in there, I left some space for anti vibrating rubber.
