FPS drops in CS:GO with decent rig

Hello all,

 

I've been experiencing a lot of framedrops lately in CS:GO. It started not too long ago, before I could get 200+ FPS on every single map.

I have no idea what's causing these framedrops. I have an i5 4690k and a MSI R9 280 (overlocked), so that shouldn't be the problem.

My GPU temps are fine, 72° max, my CPU temps are fine as well, 56° max.

I have my FPS locked at 120, but sometimes drops down to 90, which makes it pretty laggy.

How can I fix this? This PC doesn't have any problems running BF4 at 60+ FPS everything ultra...

Did that, didn't work.

Is your GPU or CPU overclocked??? If so then try restoring them to defaults as sometimes as a chip ages it won't be able to hold the same overclock forever!

CPU isn't overclocked, GPU is. My GPU is only a couple months old, so I doubt that's the problem.

There have been a couple of game patches since the problem, yes. Since I can't find anyone with similar problems, I'm assuming it doesn't have to do with game updates.

I have the latest drivers for everything, expect my GPU, which I'm downloading now.

I doubt that's the problem either.

I didn't have any problems until like a month ago. All my other games are running just fine. So there has to be a fix.
