One of the main reasons I chose the GS4 over the HTC M7 a couple years ago

In regards to home buttons on phones and tablets. I will only ever go with hardware buttons. The major contributing factor to me being on an iPhone right now is a solid, physical home button whereas my preceding phones - Nokia Lumia 925 & HTC One M8 were software, and I loathed them.

Well, you can't exactly use both at the same time, but you can still choose between the two.

the vibration thing on most software buttons annoy me too much. also it's easy to press on accident

I like hardware buttons, both physical and capacitive. Software buttons just seem to be a waste of space to me, and I've yet to see an implementation that has any benefit over hardware buttons. LG is the only one that allows customization, and Google's button "hiding" is just broken. There is just something about physical buttons that I like(probably the click and feel).

Especially on the G3, where you can have up to 5 buttons i believe. I just have the 3 plus dual window since that's what i use a lot.

I prefer having hardware buttons because I noticed on phones with software buttons for the back button, going home, or opening your recent's tend to take space up on the screen itself.

It depends know the device. I love my iPod for its hardware buttons. Makes it so that I can change volume, track, play/pause through my pants.
