Need help with my memory...

Okay so first off im not very knowledgeable with this kind of troubleshooting and stuff like that.

 

i build a PC back in october and just recently (within 2 months) my memory would randomly shoot up to 99% (i have 16gb of memory) and it would just stay there and no matter how many programs i would close and try to cut back on memory it would just keep shooting up to 97-99%. in the task manager it shows what is using the most memory and well even if you added up the amount that every program is using it still wouldnt come even close to the 16gb i have installed. 

 

does anyone know how to fix this?

 

also sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums

It's probably some kind of malware. Download and run a scan: https://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/

I will do this now.

 

Update: Ran a scan and nothing. no malware detected so i am assuming the problem is still there. 

Have you checked processes from all users in task manager?

I am the only user. everything that is running is from me

No, that doesn't matter, a bitcoin miner for example also uses 'your' account.

I would go through each individual process and Google them 1 by 1 and read up on them to see if it is a Malware process or not

Some system and localhost processes aren't shown unless show processes from all users is selected.
