Gaming 5 help!

Go to solution Solved by MACGYVR,

I would look at the price vs features of both the mother boards and buy one that has the features you want with the price you like best. As long as it will work with the cpu you want this is usually the only factor that matters when buying a mobo. Almost forgot color plays a factor for all the Magpies out there. :P I joke I joke.

:) yup i like gigabyte price and color scheme...

only thing i dont know about it is how many fan headers it has...

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5

vs

MSI Z97-GAMING 5

i am hooked on gigabyte right now so which one is better?

i dont need Tons of sata 6gb  i need an ok amount of fan headers

i wont be oc heavy if i do it will be very light. like i5 4690k to 4.2 ghz

lol best answer... only answer

thanks!!!

Gigabyte has 3 fan headers and one cpu fan header and one cpu opt header from what I can see and the other one has 2 fan headers and 2 cpu fan headers. Looked at pictures to try and see the fan headers.

Edit: Sorry forgot to mention don't let the number of fan headers stop you from buying the mobo you want. You can always buy a fan splitter to use multipler fans on one fan header. They make some really cool ones you can power off even a molex connector and attach it to the back of the mobo tray.

srry for late reply i have been beyond busy.

anyway yeah if you go on the company website and pull up the mobo it says the specs.

i would use fan splitters if needed.

i found an awesome jaystwocents vid explaining positive pressure airflow and other cool stuff so i will need a couple more fans...

Honestly three fans are usually enough. Two as a intake and one as exhaust. That's what I'm doing right now for my second pc. If you are using a AIO or a cpu cooler with fans then you would just have the fans on the cooler pushing air towards the exhaust fan. If you have a AIO I would just use that as a exhaust if possible. If you use the first type of cpu cooler you'll need a total of 4 fans or 5 if you want to do push pull on it, more fans if you want push/pull on your AIO too.
