Choosing a motherboard that suits me

Hi!

I'm choosing parts for my first gaming PC, so far I've chosen almost every component apart from a case and a motherboard (took me a whole day, including reading articles, watching videos and benchmarks). I've searched and searched about motherboards and seem to have found a lot of results that can suit my components:

i7-4790k 4 GHz Quad core processor

Be quiet dark rock pro 3

g skill ddr3 ram (16 GB in total)

Samsung SSD and a Seagate hybrid for storage

GTX 980 ti super-clocked + ACX 2.0+

Corsair RM 650W 80+ fully modular

Asus DRW -24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

I've found some reputable motherboards like the Asus Z87-Pro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard and Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard. Do you guys think they're good options? If you know motherboards who can suit me better please list them and tell me why. I don't know which one is best for me.

I don't want to spend more than 240$ on a motherboard. I want it to have a good number of SATA 6 GB/S, standard input and output options , works well with my other components, accepts not so crazy overclocking and finally it can help me for future upgrades or something.

Thanks!!

Whatever you get make sure you get one with the z97 chipset. I am running the same CPU on a Z87 board and it's great but many people had driver issues when using 4790Ks on Z87 boards. I like Asus, the fan control is great, as well as Bios and features, i would go to their site, search the z97 section, and pick one that has the features you want within your price point. The Z97-a has pretty much most thing you need, but if you want a bit better on board audio or wifi, check them out a little, a little research never hurts, but weather you get that board, or a ROG or TUF one, the difference is honestly minimal.
