Can't play music on my smartphone

I didn't have this problem before.

When I press the play button, it goes instantly back to pause as if it was registering a double tap.

What can I do to fix it?

 

I'm using google play.

NVM it fixed, it was apparently updating itself. .. wtf lol

CPU: Ryzen 2600 GPU: RX 6800 RAM: ddr4 3000Mhz 4x8GB  MOBO: MSI B450-A PRO Display: 4k120hz with freesync premium.

try using a few troubleshooting tips such as factory reset and phone wipe if applicable. ensure that you save all your docs elsewer to avoid losing them. Also, upgrade to the newest OS of your device. This will only work if it is a software problem.
