Advise on new build

jasonycw

I am trying to build a new PC for my parent and would like to know if the parts are compatible with each other.

CPU: Intel i5-4690

Mobo: Asus H97M-PLUS

SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB

PSU: FSP RA 750S RAIDER SILVER 750W 80Plus Silver

Case: Fractal Design Define Mini

I had old DDR3 RAM (2x4GB) and a Sapphire HD7850 which are swapped out from my current build.

Will these parts fit and work with each other?

The build will work fine, but why the 750 watt? You'll never use such capacity. I recommend you will go with lower capacity around 400-550 watt should be plenty.

Should work but do they really need an top of the line i5?

A 500w psu will be fine 750w is way too much.

It's another build for his parents.

Card should fit totally fine in the Define Mini.

Get a lower wattage PSU from EVGA, Corsair or Seasonic (Most recommended). Also your parents really need an i5? Why not an i3 or a Pentium?

Any other options for PSU, as I want to keep the build silence and lower cost.

I prefer i5 to match with the HD7850 in case my brother would want to use it for some gaming.

I saw Seasonic G550, although it is a little bit more expensive than the current one, is it a recommended PSU? Is it silence?

If not can I have some model number as I am not familiar with how to choose PSU.

I am currently using a Seasonic M12II Evo 520W PSU. Its 80+ bronze, fully modular and extremely silent. Im sorry, I am limited on internet usage since I am on my mobile phone. Also try EVGA Supernova PSUs and Corsair CX PSUs. I would give you links if I can but I cannot right now.
