Sony STR-DH800 can't enable 3D on gaming consoles?

So I have an STR-DH800, and on my Xbox One, if I try to enable 3D, it will sit at a black screen, and then revert back to having 3D disabled.  On my PS3, if I start a game in 3D mode, it will go to a black screen.  Now it seems like everything I can find tells me it's not "compatible" with 3D.  Well how can it then play 3D files from my PS3, or PC, but not output a game or 3D Blu-ray?  I am using a high speed HDMI cable, and have tested by playing a Blu-ray quality movie from both my PS3 and PC.  I can also play PC games in 3D without any issues.  I have checked for a firmware update, but doesn't seem like it ever had one.  Does anyone have any info or advice for me?  Thanks in advance.

Because files from PS3 and PC are just 1920 by 1080= 2.07Mpx

The output of 3D BDs and console games is 1920 by 2*1080+45= 4.23Mpx
