Anybody heard of Bytecoin?

Anybody heard of a coin called Bytecoin (it's ASIC resitant and is based on a new protocol called Cryptonote).

I have heard if it, but I don't have any experience using it.

I certainly think it's interesting as a proof-of-concept and I have played with another CryptoNote based coin called Monero.

Aside from a couple of issues (namely the lack of a developer supported GUI and the daemon loading the full blockchain into RAM) Monero worked pretty well.

As much as I like the technical details of the coin, it seems to just be another cryptocurrency in the ever growing sea of cryptocurrencies. As we have seen the actual features and technical prowess of a currency doesn't equate to its success, case in point Dogecoin which should be no more than another "shit-coin" aside from its name.

Ultimately the community makes the coin a success and seemingly Bytecoin (and CryptoNote) lack that key aspect.

Digital currency will never be universally accepted if someone launches a new one each time the last one has become unprofitable to mine...

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.
