Question about streaming media

Cgermino89

Hi everyone. I don't know exactly how to word this in a way to make sense of what I'm talking about, but I'm gonna give it a shot. My sister has videos on her computer of various TV shows. She wants to create a playlist that would play 24 hours with revolving episodes of her favorite shows. She, and honestly I don't know how to go about this, if it's even possible. If so what kind of software would I need? I honestly appreciate any and all advice given. Thanks for reading.

Put it in one folder and use media player/vlc and create a playlist.

(I guess its in mp4/some other format like that?)

Okay. She wants to organize it in a way so a different show plays after one is done. Can that be done in VLC as well like say a format like a TV channel

So basicly:

Episode 1 of show A plays; Episode 1 of show B plays? That should be possible, just put them into the playlist in the order she wants them to be in

Definitely doable. All you/she needs to do is create a Playlist in your video player of choice (I recommend VLC or MPC-HC). It's definitely going to be tedious work though.

No need to move the video files at all though. They don't need to be in the same folder. A Playlist can contain files from any number of sources.

You'll want to add all the files to the playlist first, then order them in whatever order you'd like (alternating a new show each episode, for example). This is where it gets tedious. Spend an hour to organize the playlist, though, and you'll be good.
