The Fury X has finally arrived! Has AMD left its competition in the dust with their new flagship card?

This video would have been extremely delayed without the help of The Tech Report. Check out their Fury X article at http://techreport.com/review/28513/amd-radeon-r9-fury-x-graphics-card-reviewed

Not actually crushing the opposition? That's... Worrying. Well, at least they're competitive again, until Pascal lands, that is. And it is tiny. It does have that going for it.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Does Linus/Luke know when he might get the new one for benchmarking? Not the date, but estimated time.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

fury's not sent out to reviewers my ass.

I love how people are mad that its not faster than a 980ti for the same price. if I have to cards that are equally powerful, but ones smaller AND watercooled, im taking that one for the same price.

980 Ti/ Titan X outperforms it in a Mantle game (They didn't use BF4 mantle but they used CivBE Mantle)...

G G

Unless this card Overclocks like a beast it's gonna be bad for AMD...

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

AMD you let me down, its great that you pushed for HBM but you failed to deliver on your promises, I was hoping for better from you.

Maybe top tier GPU's are not your thing, but who cares we all know that's not where the money is made. Now go and develop that 380X we have been wanting with fully featured tonga.

I knew this was coming, I personally think they would have been better off not doing an AIO cooler and just making it very cheap. This way it would perform better than a 980 and be cheaper (win win).

I cant help but think the next gen HBM cards will be a force to be reckoned with however.

especially with all of Nvidia's ridiculous technology they got going on over there.

Yup the size of AMD and its R&D budget its very impressive how much they have achieved.

I'm sure the sample that LTT got was binned and working correctly before AMD shipped it.  I mean, they aren't stupid, are they?  Plus, in the time Luke found the card to be DOA, and reporting back to AMD, wouldn't AMD have sameday courier or at the very least overnighted a new sample?

What a tease lol. I wonder how big of a difference the boost clocks on the 980ti makes because there are many reviews that show the fury x tying with the 980ti.

That's pretty good for being new memory technology though.

I expect that to get better, as technology evolves, if not, then that's going to be bad for AMD.

Still not surprising. AMD needs to work harder IMO.

Not surprised there, and i doubt the overclocking will be any good considering the temps and power consumption.

Looks good though! can we replace the Cooler?

What part of 50C while gaming makes you worry about the temps?

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

I wish performance would of been better from launch, but Nvidia fan boys are exaggerating. It can go toe to toe with the titan X at 4k, but any lower resolution it loses. Im sure drivers improve performance and also unlock voltage, I just hoped it would be more finetuned at launch. For now im going with the 980ti G1 if ever comes back in stock.

Also dont understand why some people want AMD to fail so bad. No competition for Nvidia means $1k video cards or the $3k dual cards BS. AMD shows the Fury and all of a sudden Nvidia becomes very generous with the $650 980Ti. Competition is great!
