That's light years behind 280x which it is supposed to replace, and sometimes losing to 960. Since 285 is not in the benchmarks I'm afraid to ask why.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

290/X was a new card, not a rebrand, for a billionth time.

Over the past year I've progressively grown to hate AMD. Lazy shitheads.

Its not lazyness that causes this, its a small R&D budget. They cant afford to design 5 chips every year, its easier to use existing hardware

You can argue there's a new chip this time around too: the fiji. It's just that, to the surprise of nobody, they did a shit fucking job with their stupid naming convention, again.

No, there is no 380x, so it was meant to replace the 280 series.

Either release something new or don't release it at all.

Nvidia has a stupid naming scheme. Whats the next titan card going to be called. Titan G?? Titan L?? Titan O??

What's the price point for it anyway? You guys complain, yet if it is priced near or lower than the GTX960, then it is not a bad card (because it is sitting in line with it).

This was never ment to replace the 280x it was ment to replace the 280....

I'd say that depends, if the full Tonga 380X comes out then yes, only 280, if it never comes out, then I'd go for replacing 280X as well, but as far as we know, 380X might never happen according to numerous sites.

Nvidia fanboys sure are looking up obscure benchmarks.

The 380 is just the regular 285 again.  So expect this:

I'm disappointed there's no 380x/full tonga in the line up though.

Did you expect it to get a performance boost? It's a god damn HD 7950/70

380 is a 285,which is their latest new card before Fury, not a 7xxx rebrand

and no one asked them to! that's the problem, all this looks like deception and it's exactly that

R9 380 with 4Gb ok, but the rest?! not OK!
